Vanguard European Stock Index Fund Admiral Shares dividend comes from a fund holding more than 1,200 European companies, covering roughly 50% of the non-U.S. equity landscape. The current yield is 2.9%, with a trailing annual dividend rate of $3.2077 per share paid quarterly. The next ex-dividend date is September 18, 2026. VEUSX suits dividend investors who want broad European equity exposure, with a beta of 0.847 pointing to somewhat lower volatility than the broader market.
Vanguard European Stock Index Fund Admiral Shares pays out dividends as a pass-through of income generated by its underlying holdings, making a traditional payout ratio not applicable (fund/ETF). Vanguard European Stock Index Fund Admiral Shares dividend safety depends on the income produced by more than 1,200 European companies in the portfolio, not on a single corporate balance sheet. The primary pressure point is currency fluctuation: because the fund holds European equities, a strengthening U.S. dollar directly reduces the dollar-denominated dividend, as the data history shows with year-over-year declines in multiple periods.
Vanguard European Stock Index Fund Admiral Shares dividend history shows a CAGR of 3.2% per year from 2013 to 2025. Per-share payments grew from $2.0320 to $2.9674 over that window (2026 is a partial year and excluded from the CAGR calculation). The largest annual increase in the window was 49.1% in 2014, but the history also contains at least one year-over-year decline exceeding 5%, reflecting how currency swings and European market conditions can pull the dividend lower in any given year.
| Period | CAGR | From | To |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3-Year | +9.8% | $2.24 (2022) | $2.97 (2025) |
| 5-Year | +13.4% | $1.58 (2020) | $2.97 (2025) |
| 10-Year | +3.9% | $2.03 (2015) | $2.97 (2025) |
VEUSX fits dividend investors who want exposure to European equities and can accept variable annual payouts driven by currency and market conditions. The current yield of 2.9% is moderate (2-4%) and sits above the fund's 5-year average of 2.38%, which means income at today's entry point is above the recent norm. Three consecutive years of dividend increases show recent momentum, but the longer history includes meaningful declines. What an investor gains is broad European market income from over 1,200 companies. The trade-off is that the dollar-denominated dividend can shrink in years when European currencies weaken, regardless of underlying equity performance.
